Introducing Treetrace

My name is Debbie Bradley, a professional genealogist, family history researcher and speaker based in Norfolk. My passion for family history began over 20 years ago with a chance remark at a family gathering, a moment that sparked a lifelong fascination with uncovering ancestral stories.

Like many who catch the “family history bug,” I soon found myself hooked nd eager to uncover the stories hidden in the past. I discovered that my ancestors led varied and interesting lives and looking in the archives uncovers other stories about them. I have followed my ancestors journeys all over the UK and one branch of my family came to the UK from Europe which I never imagined I would discover when I first started my journey. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of discovering new information or records that bring your family history to life.

I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies from Strathclyde University, providing me with a strong academic foundation in family history research. I am also a proud Member of the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA), an organisation dedicated to maintaining the highest professional standards within genealogy and historical research across England and Wales. In addition, I am the administrator for the Family History Federation.

In addition to my research work, I have written articles for newspapers and magazines, sharing fascinating stories and insights from the world of family history with a wider audience.

I also share my enthusiasm by giving talks—both in person and online—to family history groups, history groups, the Women’s Institute and Probus groups, both in person here in Norfolk and via Zoom to other places in the UK and even Internationally. These opportunities allow me to share knowledge, inspire curiosity, and foster a greater appreciation for family history.
